PACESETTERS TRACK CLUB of OHIO

Pacesetters Track Club Mission

Pacesetters Track Club was founded in 2005 in Reynoldsburg, Oh by Coaches Chris and Kim Simon.  The club is sanctioned by the USA Track & Field National governing body and it's local Ohio Association for track and field.  Our goal is a continued drive towards perfection. It's possible to produce Nationally competitive athletes right here in Ohio and PTC is determined to apply consistent methods of training practices to met this goal.  PTC is a respectful and organized club. We strive to provide an environment for both the athletes and their parents in which they can rest assured they are receiving the appropriate level of training and club administration for their investment.   To this end the Pacesetters have had 41 Junior Olympic All Americans, 6 National Champions and 72 Junior Olympic medals.  Coach Chris always says "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."  We know there are many talented athletes in the Columbus area, we pride ourselves on being the Club that fosters growth in athletic ability and moral character.

What we Do

  Pacesetters Track Club (PTC) Programs:
PTC has two programs:  Club and Training.  The Club Program has two age divisions: Elementary (9-12) and Middle/High (13-18) school.  Elementary age athletes development period begins in April, 2 (two) days per week.  June practice days increase to 4 (four) through the end of July.  The primary objective of the PTC summer track program is to train our athletes with the primary goal to improve their track and field abilities while developing their confidence and self image.  The training program is a program designed to train athletes, usually from other sports, who do not want to compete in any track meets, but want to receive training.
  Our Guiding Principles:
Passion, Persistence and Professionalism.  Passion for track and field.  Persistence for perfection, training does not only take place on the track, but also at home through proper nutrition and stretching.  Professionalism of our coaching and administrative staff assures the appropriate level of training and club administration.  Our coaching staff have a varied and vast level of experience and have high school, collegiate and Olympiad success.
USATF and AAU Sanctioned Meets and Travel:
Both AAU and USA Track & Field (USATF) are national governing body for sports of track and field, cross country running, road running and race walking (known as the sport of athletics outside the US).  USA Track & Field is involved in many aspects of the sport at the local, national, and international level – providing the rules, officials, coaching education, sports science and athlete development, youth programs, masters (age 40+) competition, the National Track & Field Hall of Fame, and an annual meeting. It also organizes the annual USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Through its sanctioning program, the national body provides the Insurance coverage necessary for members to rent facilities, thus allowing for competitive opportunities for all athletes to happen.
  Medal History:
Since PTC's inception the goal has been to qualify as many athletes as possible to National Junior Olympic Championship.  This effort has garnered the following stats from our regional qualifications to the National Level:  362 athletes have qualified for the Junior Olympics in 352 events. Pacesetters have 598 medals in the Regional meets. We have had 41 All-American finalists in the National Championship, 6 National Champions and 72 Junior Olympic Medals.
  Athletic Scholarship and Academic Excellence:
Many of our athletes receive athletic scholarships and the coaching staff have increased their roles in this effort.  New this year is promoting assistance with recruiting questions, interviews and talking to coaches, resume and vitae help and NCAA eligibility processes.  We also honor our scholar athletes by promoting their accomplishments on our site.  We want to encourage an environment where athletes are taught that it takes more than their athletic ability to get into college.
