Blake Heriot, Baylor University


Sophomore (2012): Carded outdoor All-American recognition by serving as anchor leg for BU's fifth-place 4x100-meter relay team (39.37)...Earned indoor All-American honors as anchor leg on Baylor's seventh place 4x400-meter relay team (3:07.86)...Enjoyed successful outdoor campaign with three All-Big 12 honors...Took fourth in 200-meter event in 20.79...Used season-best time of 46.28 in 400-meters to be fourth...Helped 4x100 (39.16)relay team to second-place finish at Big 12 meet...Produced season-best 200-meter time (20.55) at UCF Invitational to be second...Had breakout indoor performance at Big 12 Championships...Ran 21.34 in 200-meter finals to take fifth...Tallied season-best time in 400-meter preliminaries with time of 47.31...Posted a 49.31 to take eighth in finals...Closed individual season with 200-meter first-place finish at Iowa State Qualifier in 21.09...Opened season by winning Texas A&M 10-Team Invitational 400-meter title in 47.60...Served as anchor leg on BU's 4x400-meter relay team for majority of indoor season...Helped quartet register second-place finish at Big 12 Championships in 3:07.27.

High School: Helped Gahana (Ohio) Lincoln High School to state team title in 2009...Part of 2010 World Junior championship 4x400-meter relay team...Won Ohio state title in 200 meters and 400 meters in 2009..Broke Ohio state meet 100-meter record at 10.47...Had personal bests of 10.42 at 100 meters, 20.99 at 200 meters and 46.77 at 400 meters.






Destinee Guase, University of Florida

College:  Freshman sprinter Destinee Gause picked up wins for the women, with Gause doubling up with victories in the 55-meter dash (6.96) as well as the 200 (24.16).  “Destinee Gause, she ran what's going to convert to about a 23.7 on a banked track, and that's a big PR for her. She's continuing to improve as the season progresses.


High School:  Destinee Gause, a graduate from Reynoldsburg High School has decided to continue her academic and running career at the University of Florida.  Gause has a remarkable 12 indoor and outdoor state championship titles and an additional four runner up finishes at state championship meets.  On top of that, Gause was also on both the 4x400m Relay and 4x200m Relay State Record setting teams as a freshman.  Gause also won the 2011 USATF National Junior Olympic Championship in the 200m Dash this past summer.



            

Evan Bettes, University of Cinncinnati

2011-12: Competed in 14 events during the 2011-2012 indoor season ... Ran personal bests of 23.95 in the 200-meter dash, 51.76 in the 400-meter dash, and 8.49 in the 60-meter hurdles ... Set the school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.49 at the Hoosier Hills Invitational ... Was a part of the record-setting 4x400 team with the time of 3:22.52 ... Competed in 11 events during the 2012 outdoor season ... Earned four top-10 finishes ... Ran personal bests of 51.86 in the 400-meter at the Sea Ray Relays, 15.09 in the 110-meter hurdles at the A-10 Championship, and 59.99 in the 400-meter hurdles at the A-10 Championship.

High School: Two-time OCC Champion in 110-meter hurdles.  Member of Pacesetters Track Club and his 4x400-meter relay team ran a 3:17 ... Advanced to Regional Finals in 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and the 4x200-meter relay ... Personal best in the 110-meter hurdles is 14.6, had a 49 second split in the 4x400-meter relay.

                
 
Jalisa Jarrett, University of Cinncinnati


School Record: 4x400 - 3:37.62

Personal Records: 400m - 55.11; 600m - 1:37.12

Qualified for the OHSAA Division I State Meet in three events, the 400 meters, 4x200-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay ... anchored Pickerington Central to a fifth-place finish in the 1,600 relay.

Hilliard Darby High School 2009 OHSAA Division I state champion in the 300m hurdles; bronze medalist in the 110m hurdles ... first place in the high school section of the 400m hurdles at the 2009 Penn Relays ... first place in the 300 hurdles at the 2009 Midwest Meet of Champions ... runner-up in the 400m hurdles at the 2008 OHSAA DI State Championships ... also lettered in football at Darby.

 

Zena Kolliesuah, Cornell University

As a Freshman (2011-12)
Kolliesuah was a big part of the Cornell track team during her first year, mostly running short sprints and taking part in relays. At the Indoor Heps, she placed ninth in the 200-meter prelims, just missing a shot at the finals. She also took sixth in the 400, scoring a point for the Cornell team. She was part of a Big Red 4x400 team that took third at the ECAC Indoors, and she was also part of the Penn Relays 4x200 team that ran 1:37.62, good for second place in school history. At the Outdoor Heps, she ran the second leg of the second-place 4x100 team and the third leg of the Ivy League champion 4x400 team.  She also scored four points for Cornell in the 400-meter dash, placing fourth in a time of 55.18 seconds. At the outdoor ECACs, Kolliesuah ran the second leg of the sixth-place 4x100 team, and she was the starting leg of the winning 4x400 squad. As part of the 4x400 relay group, Kolliesuah made it to the NCAA East  Regional in Jacksonville, Fla., where Cornell took 21st. Outdoors, she set the school freshman record with a 55.15-second 400, a time good for fifth-all time at Cornell among all classes.

At the 2011 Ohio State High School Championships, Kolliesuah finished second at 400 meters, running 54.77. She has other bests of 11.82 at 100 meters and a state-scoring effort of 24.62 at 200 meters.

           



Stevyn Spees, The United States Military Academy

Accepted an appointment to The United States Military Academy and will run track. He is a member of St. Timothy parish and attended St. Timothy School. Stevyn is an Honor Student with a 3.75 GPA, a member of the National Honor Society and the Treasurer of Student Council. Last spring at the 2011 Ohio High School Division 1 State Outdoor Track Meet he was a member of the school’s 4 X 800 M relay team which finished 2nd in the state and he also placed 11th in the state in the 400M. He is a 1st degree black belt and captain of both the track and football teams.  


 
 
Dontell Higgins, Kent State University

• Was a member of the 2011 indoor season's fastest 4x400-meter relay squad, clocking a 3:15.32.

• Was a member of the 2011 outdoor season's fastest 4x100-meter relay teams, timing in at 40.58 and 40.78, respectively. Won MAC gold as a member of the team that clocked a 40.78 at the conference meet.

Prior to Kent State 

 Earned third-place state finishes in the 60-meter dash and 100-meter dash as well as an eighth-place finish in the 200-meter indoor run at Groveport-Madison High School under head coach Jason Brooks

 Also competed for Pacesetters under head coach Simon Chris, placing ninth in the Junior Olympics in the 4x100-meter relay
